Moles are perhaps the most destructive of garden pest. The most common visible signs of

mole damage are mole hills & surface tunnelling. These garden pests can undermine

concrete slabs, driveways, pools, and even shallow foundations. The damage they cause

can be expensive to repair and you may find your insurance policy does not cover this

type of damage.


Damage to Plants
Although Moles are almost entirely carnivorous, they do indirectly kill plants. Their

tunnels arel often be used by other small animals. Voles, in particular, will travel in

these tunnels and eat away at roots and tubers.


The grubs and worms that moles do eat are often found in some numbers in the roots of a

hedge, flower, or other type of plant. Mole will scrape the soil away from the roots in

search of food, thereby removing the plants? source of nourishment.


Moles are Territorial Pests
Moles do not generally get along with one another. They will fight to the death if

another mole infringes their territory. You cannot therefore expect to trap the garden

pest that is causing you a problem and then release it in some distant spot, believing

this is the most 'humane' solution.
